So I've just nearly burst a blood vessel spending about an hour meticulously clearing the outside of Corvega only to go inside to find about 10 raiders camping the door, get insta-killed and have to start again. First time I was instantly killed by a grenade. To make matters worse dogmeat keeps jumping off high ledges for no reason meaning I'm going through my stimpack supply due to poor AI pathing.Firstly is there a bed nearby? I'm ready to give up on survival mode due to the difficulty of Corvega - am I too low level to be trying this?

(Level 11) The grenade icon literally flashes up for a second which isn't enough time to get out of the way of the blast radius, being caught means insta-death and these guys have a ton of grenades. Any tips?EDIT: Brilliant tips, guys. Cleared it with your help. Glad to hear I'm not the only one struggling with this place!.

I've got thousands of hours in on this game and only play survival. Cleared Corvega many times.Don't try it as soon as you get the quest, wait till you've leveled and got some decent armor etc.

Just because they give you a quest in this game does not mean you're ready to do it at that time. I normally wait till I've secured most of the area in the quadrant Northwest of Cambridge (or even later) before I go for Corvega. Download game microsoft flight simulator x.

Not sure what level.Use the bed on the overpass that is outside the Corvega door with the turret. I have my companion wait by the bed for this quest.Clear the raiders/turret around the entrance with the turret. Go back to bed. Clear the raiders on the floor you enter. Do not go through the door to the stairs. Go back to bed. Go back inside, go through the door to the stairs, clear the raiders at the foot of the stairs.

Use the stairs and activate the Protectron (watch it, he'll shoot you too). Go back to bed while he creates havoc.I normally go back to bed after every stage/battle of any quest. It will cost you less in time than if you have to redo a battle.Go back inside, retrace your route to the area with the Protectron and kill the Boss in the upstairs office area.

Done.Note: you never actually need to go to the area inside with the beds or the area accessed via the sewer pipe to complete this quest. You can do these areas after your 'completed quest' sleep.Don't give up on survival because of Corvega. It is an anomaly and misrepresents the difficulty setting.

I've found it to be the biggest difficulty anomaly in the game - not sure why Bethesda did it. That's why I leave it till later. This is a very well detailed tip. The bed on the overpass is super key, and you can shoot the raiders at the door from a distance there.Regarding the difficulty of the Corvega factory quest, I had never played any Fallout before Fallout 4. I started playing it like any other game, linearly. So this quest was like the third one, and I tried it for hours. Could not get it and I was playing on normal difficulty.

I eventually gave up and on my way back to Sanctuary, got distracted and played a bunch of (easier) side quests. Many levels later, I went back to Corvega and, with still some difficulty, managed to clear it.Corvega made me realize I didn't need to play the minuteman storyline, there is a shit ton of other content. Side note: The Castle quest was another one I just couldn't do until I came back many levels later. These bursts in difficulty are to force you to slow down. Although, after the castle everything was easier. So I started a survival and it has all been challenging.

I ran through Lexington and only paused to slap every ghoul I met in the balls then I ran up and around the whole Corvega plant with my ghoul army in tow. While the ghouls cleared the walkways and exterior of bandits I sat up on the overpass with a pipe rifle and picked off any stragglers (there's a bed up there too so you can save before you go in).

Once the outside was clear a few sneak shots and molotovs took care of the interior guards. Probably took me a few tries just cause I tend to blow myself up with molotovs like a nubbin.

Contents LayoutA total of seventeen raiders patrol the outside of the factory, along with a single turret at the main entrance. The gangways to the east side also provide access to numerous side entrances. There is a hidden entrance access by way of pipes that are located in Lexington between the main and eastern entrances to the factory. Inside, there's only one turret guarding the pipe (mostly against ghouls) and some noise alarms., the raider leader, is in a small, well-guarded area near the top of the factory. He has two machine gun turrets near him along with spotlights that will alert him to nearby intruders.
